Are there places to get lunch close to the plantation or Dayton Hall?

After visiting we headed back toward Charleston on Hwy 61 and ate at Betty Lou's Bistro (2408 X, Ashley River Rd, Charleston, SC 29414). Very good food! Great staff!

If you visited a plantation, why would you think that slavery didn't fundamentally make life there possible?

slavery did not make plantations possible. it made slave owners rich. not a good thng

I don't think so. Are you taking an Uber here? If so perhaps the admission building or gift shop could hold your things. If you're driving here plan to leave things in your car.
