Highly recommend visiting Lewes, Delaware for quaint, beautifully restored Victorian homes (look up “Shipcarpenter Square”), excellent restaurants, an easy, beautiful “hike” (walk) through Cape Henlopen State Park at the Atlantic Ocean. You’d be driving all the way to the coast from the Chesapeake Bay, but worth’s the drive. Lots of wildlife, and maybe even treat yourself to a few hours on the beach!
Q:
Is there a fee to enter the park
A:
There is no fee which surprised me. They do have a donation box at the guest services desk.
