We did this cruise and hired a local travel guide to give us a day tour. She met us at the jetty and her driver (in a nice air conditioned 7 seater vehicle all day) took us around Phuket. Was well worth the money as you get to see quite a lot. If you are just after beaches, then you may think the travel further south may take too much time with the return ride back, as traffic is horrendous you’d only get a couple of hours at the beach. Agree with other reviews below that the main ones are pretty busy & not clean
